Short Bio:

Jennifer Lesher is an author, blogger, armchair philosopher, non-sufferer of fools and graduate of the School of Hard Knocks. She grew up in rural Indiana and hightailed it to college in the nearest big city, Chicago, immediately after high school. Her life since college has taken her to fishing boats in Alaska and jobs with first a small software company, and then Microsoft.

After enjoying a long and mostly successful career in high tech, Jennifer recently left her job as a program manager to pursue two longtime dreams: to be paid to write fiction, and to work in the aviation industry.

In her efforts toward the first goal she has published her first novel, Raising John, under the Booktrope imprint. In her efforts toward the second goal she has completed her FAA certification as an aircraft mechanic and currently works as a flight line mechanic for a major airline.

Jennifer lives in Seattle, Washington.

Long Bio:

Jennifer Lesher is an author, blogger, armchair philosopher, non-sufferer of fools and graduate of the School of Hard Knocks.

Jennifer grew up in rural Indiana. After graduating from college in the Midwest she first paid off some student loans with a year-long stint in the North Pacific, working on Alaskan fishing trawlers. This led her to Seattle where she enjoyed a year of eclectic employment as a sometimes-office worker and sometimes-cargo boat laborer, before finally landing a job at a small software company, and then, at a much bigger, purportedly monopolistic, Redmond-based software company.

Jennifer loves to travel, and has been to countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, including a recent trip overland through 4 countries in eastern Africa. In her spare time Jennifer mountain bikes, plays classical piano, enjoys nature, and lifts heavy things in a gym.

When she’s not globetrotting, she lives in Seattle, Washington.

What readers are saying:

“A difficult topic, beautifully written.”
“The best book I have ever read.”
“Blew me away.”

How do you go on living when you have done the unforgivable? Robert Lewis isn’t surprised to wake up in the drunk tank. He assumes that, as usual, he’ll sleep it off, then return to the routine of golf games, broker meetings, symphony dates and nightcaps that make up his life. Then his lawyer delivers the news: Robert is responsible for an accident that has killed a young mother and orphaned her young son, John.

Spanning three generations, Raising John tells the story of John’s bittersweet childhood, the history of the mother he never knew, and of Robert’s collapse and redemption.
